A Purpose Driven Life Chapter 9 - What Makes God Smile?
Chapter Overview: Rick talks about how to make God smile and uses the story of Noah in the bible. He suggests that unbridled faith and trust in God brings God pleasure and quotes that verse on Heb. 11 - without faith it is impossible to please God.

To my delight, Rick uses the same quote from Chariots of Fire that I quoted in the last chapter.
Rick expounded on how God wants to support people who show him they trust him with their whole heart continuing to talk about Noah. The way he was talking reminded me of what Jesus said: 'you being good know how to give good gifts to your children how much more will your father in heaven give to those who ask' Childlike faith. That seems so simple.
My mind again goes to the examples of John the baptist and Jews in concentration camps. Weren't they all asking for answers? It isn't so cut and dry to me. Perhaps context needs to be considered a little bit? If that's the case then many people are oversimplifying what Jesus said

God smiles when I trust him. This is a longer chapter packed full of good stuff. God isn't waiting for us to be mature before he's pleased and smiles at us. I have this image of watching kids sleeping. Since God knows what is best, what are areas in my life that I need to trust him more? Springing off Noah trusting God in this chapter and that being one thing that pleases God. Certainly I could trust him more with finances. Rick mentioned tithing in this chapter... Something I still don't do....
